watchmen and trailers
I LIVE !
well now thats over ;p
i went to see the watchmen tonight...it says a lot when you come out of the cinema discussion a trailer rather than the film.
then again this is the trailer:

i will advise people to go to the cinema and watch it yourselves. its a film you need to make your own mind up about.
some awesome sections and some very bleh sections, but thats my view.

Now having read the comic, it is a comic with awesome section and some very bleh sections, so it dosn't surprise me that this has carried over into the film.

Now THAT I'm surprised at.... that you, of all people, have never read Watchmen.

just never got round to it in my case, never saw the drive and i remembered my reaction to league of gentlemen comic to film... read the comics before and wished i'd done it the other way round.

ok, now i've just got back from watching the film myself with Will and all I have to say is 'wow'.

Frankly I think the film was brilliant, what were rather tedius flashbacks in the comic are brilliantly brought to life in the film. Particularly the birth of Doc Manhattan and silk spectres run in with the comedian.

I think the pace and tone of the film was very well done and the changes they made from the comic were in some cases done to make a better story. If you havn't read it, I won't say which bits, as it'll just ruin the surprise.

The only bit I found rather disappointing was the end, it picked up suddenly in the latter half, but prior to that was becoming a bit of a let down. Overall, I think it's one of the best superhero films around, possibly coming second to the dark knight, but placed higher than the x-men and spiderman films.
